How To Restrict A Unix Ftp User To Its Home Directory?

I want to restrict one ftp user so that it cannot access any other directory on the server other than the home directory assigned to it.
It should have full access to its home directory and all its sub-directories.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I remember correctly, this is indeed the behavior of most *nix based FTP servers. Since there are so many variants of the OS and the FTP server, there is no generic instruction.
You are advised to check which FTP server is installed on your system, where it’s configuration file is stored and what settings to put into the config file.

Reset the permissions afforded that user.
